About the Musicians: Amol Ghandarva began his studies at a very young age with Gangadhar Pimpalkhare (Gwalior and Kirana Gharanas). Later he became the disciple of the esteemed Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty (Patiala Gharana), a doyen in the field of music, under the strict precepts of the Guru-Shishya parampara (student teacher traditional training method). This intensive study has launched Amol into the world of music where he has been well received in many concerts both with his Guru and solo concerts all over India in many prominent festivals and broadcasts.
Kaustabh Datar is a fine local musical talent who learnt music and the Harmonium from an early age. He has accompanied many artists visiting Australia including Pt. Vinayak Torvi, Rahul Deshpande and Shri Aphale.
Nikhil Harischandrakar, disciple of Ustad Haneef Mirajkar and Ramdas Palsule, has been learning tabla for eighteen years. With a Masters Degree in Tabla, he has accompanied many fine artists in India and during their tours in Australia including Pandit Pimpalkhare Guru, Panditr Vinayak Torvi, Rahul Deshpande, Pt. Vijay Bakshi and Shri Aphale.
